I heard this term on ESPN Radio several months ago, and it refers to how Atlanta teams always come up short when it comes to winning championships.

Self-fulfilling prophecy. Just like the Cubs and the Red Sox until 2004.

Leave it to a Cleveland team to allow for an exception.

Could be one of those things "The Mother-Ship" creates. Like "Bounty Gate" or "Tim Tebow can start consistently in the NFL" or "USC is a great team"

It was a strike-shortened season. You can thank Tom Glavine for that.

Im starting to believe it, at least in relation to the braves. You have the best defensive team in the NL with the hottest pitcher in baseball and you come up with that abortion of a performance? Can't make that stuff up.
