A guy on the Arkansas hunting forum killed a doe on 9-15 that had fawns in it. They looked like they were ready to drop any minute.

She's preggo. But prolly has dropped by now. I had a couple mid sept that looked just like her. They have since birthed. One had twins.

Looks preggo to me. I hunted a property in SW GA a few years back and all the deer were swollen like ticks. I learned that there was a native berry that deer and hogs ate which apparently distended their stomachs with gas. I suppose it could be that, but pregnant seems more likely.

Deer are rutting later and later because of al gore. I have seen bucks chasing with full set of antlers in march. That would give a later than usual drop.

Avg gestation is 200 days so a preggo doe aug 20 is an early feb tryst. Not unusual.
