You can add NCAA Football since I think it has been a pile of shite for awhile. Technically you can add NCAA Baseball to that since it was canned for not making enough money.

Star Wars Galaxies
Not a franchise but it was drastically changed for money. The game went through two major shifts that ultimately led to its death.
First they put in the "Combat Upgrade" - This drastically changed the game to be more like WoW. It was bearable because everything else stayed the same.
They then decided that the player base had not shrunken enough and did the "New Game Experience" and tried to completely "WoW up" the game and made it class based and very very very shitty.
The original SWG is still my favorite game of all time and it makes me mad to think how bad sony screwed it up

Since I'm not a big multiplayer person I feel like Halo was ruined for me. They put more resources into the multiplayer, which is where the money is, and took away from the campaign. Same goes for COD. I still want a campaign as long as the first Halo.

Battlefield will soon be heading this direction
These companies need to take a queue from Valve. Always produce quality products and the end results will be better.

Not sure if Final Fantasy games were ruined because of money, but man has those games taken a nosedive. Otherwise, Resident Evil and Cod tops my list.

If you include FFXIV, that was definitely a money move. It was an attempt to hook the asian markets and get millions of subscribers fast.

Splinter cell for sure. I like being sneaky sneaky, if I want to battle hordes of guys with an assault rifle I play an FPS.
