QB comparisons in the SEC

Saw someone comparing Mett to McCarron earlier and it was interesting how similar the stats were and yet Mett is taking a beating and McCarron is getting heisman votes. I was curious about how the other QBs in the SEC compared so figured I would look up some stats that I could find pretty easily. Here they are.
Name_____Comp%_____yds_____TD_____Int_____Sacks
McCarron__65.8%_____999_____12______0_______10
Bray______61.1%_____1582____14______6_______2
Manziel___70.2%_____1094____10______0_______7
Driskel____69.6%_____698______4______1_______12
Murray____68.2%_____1370____12______3_______7
Shaw_____78.1%_____571______5______2_______7
Mett._____65.5%_____1016_____6______2_______11
Wilson____54.5%_____1355_____9______5_______3
All starting QBs from SEC contender teams....Mett is on par with the rest of the group and several of these guys have a full year of starting or more. Take what you want from this info. I will take away that Mett is on pace to be a good SEC QB and has the potential to be a great one.

11 sacks in 5 games is a bit concerning, but I'm glad to see Bama is having the same trouble with sacks at 10.

as is Florida and they've only played 4 games.

I heard a stat today that said Florida is averaging getting a sack every 7 snaps.
That seems low, I've seen Florida play some, I can't say I've seen Driskel get sacked though, I don't watch enough of their games.
Did you hear this?

That can not be right. Not unless they only get about 21 plays a game.

A few are from cornerback blitzes and one is from Mett tripping on his feet. O-line has probably given up 7-8 sacks

You sure it wasn't every 7 passing attempts? There have been 85 passing attempts and 12 sacks. Comes out to a sack every 7.083 plays. Although this stat is stupid, because a sack isn't considered as a passing attempt.

How about a stat on fumbles and another one on TDs from the red zone? I think those are what's giving tiger fans heartburn.

I didn't feel like looking through every play of every game to find those stats.
I can tell you Mett has fumbled twice and thrown 2 ints in the redzone.
THe botched snap was not Mett's fault. Porter threw the ball back when Mett was under center...that red zone fumble against Auburn was the center's faul in my mind. Coaches have come out and confirmed it as well in interviews.
If someone else wants to look up these stats, I would be interested in seeing how we stack up against the others.

6 of those were against tamu because Driskel didn't know how to get rid of the ball. They were on him. He has gotten waaaay better since then. He is still learning, but he improves every game.

I love it when folks post these stats. Seeing the numbers is like looking at things in a vacuum, it removes all the distractions of "fanhood". There still is no denying the lack of discipline and preparation, but it tells me there is still hope.
Thank you stho381

12 sacks in 4 games for florida, wow. We need to get to Driskel early and often.

STats are misleading.
Most of Mccarron's sacks came against WKU. Since that game, not much pressure on him at ALL.
Since the A&M game, driskel has grown up completely. He didn't let a UT or UK defender touch him.

Big difference from 12-0 and 6-2
