What I am telling you is that he passed for over 450 yards yesterday. What else do you want? If the rest of the team isn't doing shite to help him, namely the running game and the defense, then the team won't win.

He's every bit worth that money. Every red penny. You people get mad at some of the most ludicrous shite on here.

Brees is getting paid for what he has done in the past and will continue to do in the future. This year and this start is not at all his fault and we will rise again next season let it go.

It has become quite apparent here that most of you have relegated to screaming about Drew Brees video game like stats if anyone questions the fact that he is making 100 mil but cant win a game.

Where do these retards come from?

Guy has 4000 posts and I've never seen him. Do they all come from the Rant and then spill over here?

This!

How quickly we forget what this team looked like without Brees! I guess some of you won't be happy until he goes on defense and covers someone or kicks the field goals for us because you know we paid him so much. (actually he might be a more clutch kicker than Hartley lol, thank God Hartley made that kick in '09)

I thought the 60 million or whatever he made on his last contract was his payment for what he was doing during that time.

Alright smart guy, what would you do? The market is set for the best football player your franchise has ever seen. He's brought you a Super Bowl. He gives you a chance to win every time he's on the field.

Again, he set the market for himself. It's X. Now, you're the GM...do your job. This isn't a Carl Nicks situation where you can find a replacement. This is Drew Brees. One of the top three QB's in the league right now. This is an irreplaceable player who's worth to this franchise is not quantifiable.

Not to mention your fans would turn their backs on you in a heartbeat if Drew wasn't resigned. Can you imagine the pandemonium in New Orleans if they let Drew go somewhere else?

I wouldn't let one player put the team and the entire off season in a stranglehold because he felt he was owed. The Saints gave Brees his last shot. Remember no one besides us and the Dolphins even wanted to talk to him, and the Dolphins said no. Sounds like it worked out pretty good for us but also really good for Brees. I'm not saying we should have let him walk but I know I've seen teams winning games with quarterbacks that arent Drew Brees and aren't getting paid more money than any other person employed by the NFL.

How good did finding a replacement for Nicks work out? If it weren't for the Brees holdout Nicks would most likely still be on the team.

So, you say you wouldn't let a single player put a stranglehold on the team, but you wouldn't let him walk.

You have to understand that his play sets his market at X. It's your job as the GM to decide his worth, which is immeasurable in this situation for this player. You can't change his worth. You just cannot.

And now you're telling me that Carl Nicks would still be on this team if not for Brees. That's fricking dogshit. Carl Nicks set his worth, and the Saints were out of his market regardless. Not to mention that Ben Grubbs is a damn good offensive lineman.

the same people who are bitching about brees getting paid would be the same retards on here that would be complaining about an 0-4 start IF we didn't pay him and let him go

You're playing word games now. If signing one player meant putting your entire team in a stranglehold then yes I guess I'd let that player walk. I would have had no problem with giving Brees that kind of money the year after the superbowl. I just think he has peaked and it's starting to show. That's just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong.

Could have franchised Nicks.

I see 31 other teams with at least 1 win and quarterbacks not named Drew Brees. Oh wait I forgot about the Browns, so 30 teams...

we should get rid of some of these running backs - you know since we don't really get down with the whole running game thing.

If I had game I'd make sex with the OPs wife or girlfriend, or daughter if she is of age. He would be so mad.
