What's odd about that quote is this: 9.5 for 2K12
While I agree with his quote that it definitely has that potential, and I know it is two different writers, it's odd that it doesn't even get the highest rating for an NBA 2K game

Don't really think I agree with a 9.5 for 2k12, though. I honestly think it was probably the worst one to come out since 2k8 (when I first started playing the series). 2k13 is leaps and bounds above any other one so far.

Oh, trust me, I agree fully with your assessment, I just thought the quote was funny when the game isn't rated the highest.
I never read IGN for their sports game reviews but the only problem is Operation Sports usually releases their reviews after the games come out and sometimes I just can't wait

And I'm sorry, but the demo I think is higher than a 9.1 if we are looking at just gameplay. Every time I play that quarter I see something different or I go "That's exactly what would happen in real life"

Same. The collision physics and animations on drives to the goal are SO much better than any previous game. It really is amazing.
