I have two showers and they both are slow as hell about draining. I have used all of the liquid plumber, foam snake, clorox and anything else I could think of with no success.
My house flooded about a year and a half ago and while I wasnt living here the showers werent being used and afterwards worked for several months before starting to drain slowly again. What do yall suggest doing?

My next move was to call a plumber but wanted to check with the OB first, just in case one of yall is a plumber or knows about plumbing.

Pull the drain apart. It probably has a screen in it that's clogged up with hair.

Stop beating off in the shower.

Take drain cover off and get a piece of wire and make a bend 180 deg on one end. Stick down drain and twist and turn to grab the hair and other shite that might be down there and pull it out.

If you are married to a real girly girl type do not do this in front of her.

Also, Are you on city sewer or do you have a tank? If the tank is full of semi-solids or plain solids your fill line could be full and it takes a while for it to regulate.

Cover nose and do not be tempted to smell your prize...

I guess I should have added this in the original but the complete showers were replaced after the flood. I completely remodeled it and moved the drain. All of the drain piping was replaced right up to the outside wall. So the first 6ft of the drain is definitely not the problem.

Could be clogged vents

I really don't know but go on roof and stick a piece of wire down them just to check.

Get on the roof and run a water hose through the vent stacks(no water needed)and see if they are plugged up. You may be able to free them or you may need a roto rooter service....If the showers are back to back they may be on the same vent.

They pretty much are. I will have to call the Roto Rooter and have them unclog it.

But if the problem is roots growing into the pipes, how good is that with cleaning them out? I might go ahead and grab one just to have and try before having to call a plumber next time but this time I am calling Roto Rooter cause they got that motorized drain snake that spins and will clean out the roots if that is what it is.

I don't think it will get the roots. If its only the showers and nothing else in the house, it should be where the two shower drains connect, right?

Good luck, plumbing problems suck. I had problems right after I built my house. The plumbers screwed up the connection into the Modad. Had to dig it up and redo it

Well I had these problems before the rebuild on the showers, I was just hoping since the drains were replaced that that would fix the problem. It didnt.

I also have a drain on the outside of the house. It is from the comode(I know cause I saw a big turd stuck to the side of the pipe when I took the cap off) and I ran water in it for a while but it didnt help. I figured they might all run together at that drain but I dont guess they do. I am on city sewer so no septic tanks.

If you take the cap off outside and it's draining good from the house to sewer outfall roots shouldn't be a problem. Get that tape and push it every direction you can down every pipe.

Sounds like you know the layout of your piping so should be able to figure out the problem spot.

Roto Rooter just stopped by and used a Kinetic Water Ram and blew them through both drains and both showers are now flowing freely. Cost me 293 bucks. It was two different clogs.
