I am shocked that many of the people here seem to understand what is going on but a bunch of people still don't. This is the status of an LSU championship run.

Defense, holes (LB, DB's) filled up nicely. We will not lose a championship because of poor defensive play.

Special team. Not an issue. Did have a poor game a couple of times (missed field goal, 1 poor punt, stupid coaching decision to kick to the #1 kick returner in the country when you don't have too.)

Offense: deep breath exhale
1. RB's awesome.

2. OL. Started out gangbusters and now with the injury the performance has gone from a plus to a minus on pass protection. Coaches tried rolling him out and Mett couldn't perform in that situation. Play calling was adjusted for it in the North Texas game and the Auburn game and the fans meltdown because the coaches took steps to help out the problem.

3. WR are worse than I thought. OBJ isn't playing like he did last year. Mr. Dependable has become Mr. Butterfingers. I am thinking Boone and Williams need at least a shot at the position. They might not be better in practice but maybe they are better in games. They are good enough to be given a shot... at least on the next drop.

4. Mett. Great arm every throw is very accurate. Accuracy is very good and not a problem... at all.

His fumbles in this game were a problem... his interceptions caused by poor decision earlier were the problem. Not his arm. Mett is super great with time. Unfortunately our OL wont give him that.

If that problem is not fixed a championship is almost without question out of the question.

And that last sentence my friend is what will determine the outcome of our season. Can the coaches move people around or bring non starters in that are better at pass protection??? Had that problem been solved against Auburn we would have killed auburn!

OL problems hopefully can hopefully be fixed. I think OBJ is the only one that can fix the WR's are maybe a psychologist.

Edit: Forgot to mention this team is penalty prone and that needs to be fixed!!!

The problem is #68 Josh Dworaczyk. That guy got blown up every single play at LT. I mean every passing play he was getting turnstiled.

I didn't forget Hurst either. A couple times the DL pushed him down. He got pancaked.

The tackles are the offenses problem.

That was my point. OBJ has had the dropsies and only he can fix that. He has the ability... see last year.

What part of pass protection breakdowns do you not agree with. You think our pass protection is stellar?

Good post megaman! I think mett getting more and more experience with the no huddle will destroy other teams. We will soon see if miles and company can move personal on the o line to better protect mett.

very accurate assessment of our current status.
scary thing is Auburn isn't the biggest baddest defense we are going to face. the left side looked like a hole in the damn with water running through it. the rush negated the passing game, no time to throw and no time for receivers to get open. Play calling got to change to slow the rush down. draw, screen, short quick timing passes. Of course the receivers got to hold on to the ball.
I was kind of surprised that the run blocking wasn't as good as it had been, but that could be related to the fact that pass offense was not that effective.

the team is full of #2 and 3 receivers. a #1 receiver hasn't shown himself.

The offenses problem is the Oline pass protection.

I will give JJ credit for one thing on this board...getting out the pocket. We had similar problems last year but he was able to at least take off and run.

#68 is getting pushed around and it's bad. I'm talking T-Bob bad. People have the USC LT all kinds of crap against Stanford but Josh D's performance against Auburn was just as bad.

He made them look All SEC. Florida and USCw will present worse problems and Bama's DE will just thrown him like a rag doll

I thought it was the center position for USC.

No the LT gave up two sacks in a row to the RDE on the last drive. Literally got pushed down and belted. Center may have also been an issue but I watched that drive myself...I remember wondering how he got a scholly...then I witnessed Josh D.

You know, I was never a football player but it seems to me that if your main priority is one guy-essentially all Josh D's assignment was...that you'd learn to use your width and slide. Even when they put Hill/Jacobs in to help Chip he wasn't better.

You want to fall down and get pushed over...fine...but at least be a human obstacle course for them to jump over. Not roll around on the ground.

Lemonier may have been but Charles...you played at LSU. There is no excuse for being completely blown off the ball and pushed down time after time. There's slow LTs and then there's LT's with bad technique. Josh D managed to have both both on the same night.

This. Some act like because he plays for AUful, he must not be worth a shite. So happens their main strength (Lemonior) matched up against our most glaring weakness. Bad combo.

.....I have always taken up for JD.......I can't support his performance last night. It was really bad.....good competition or not.

Collins needs a shot.

Spurrier will unleash Clowney on him, but I think lemon head is every bit as good as Clowney ......and that scary.
