If you were an AP writer, where would you rank LSU?

Honestly, I would put them at around 5. Remember these polls are primarily based on a preseason rating that assumed LSU wouldn't struggle at times against terrible teams.
1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Florida St
4. Georgia
5. LSU
6. South Carolina
7. WVU
For the record, FSU is probably overrated but their offense blows our away. As bad as their defensive backs are, I don't know if we can expose them. Georgia and South Carolina's offenses are better as well, but we still hold the edge on defense. West Virginia has a great offense and I think if we played them this year in Morgantown, we may lose and we would lose to Oregon.
I may be being too pessimistic. But anybody that struggles at time versus UNT, Idaho and barely beats Auburn team that gives up high 20's to a regional Louisiana school speaks volumes.
With that being said, if we have the potential to turn it around, but based on what I've seen so far, I think that rating is fair.

And our defense blows theirs away. The only team they have played with a pulse almost put up 40.
We're right where we should be.

I'm ok with LSU at number 3 for now. We have a great opportunity in 2 weeks to really see what this team is made of.
Our defense alone will keep us in just about any game; we just need o-line to give Mett a bit of time. He's not good at all under pressure right now, and that will change with extra experience, but shite, our O-line needs to step it up.

Aub was playing for their lives. I still say we are number 2 until someone beats us.

#1. And I'd reverse the rest of the top 25 as it sits now, just to help them with the points.
But I am a biased LSU fan, so they probably shouldn't let me vote.

My thought process for ranking teams is who would win on a neutral field if the teams played each other tomorrow and both teams played as well as possible with their current injury situation and experience level in all three phases of the game. That being said:
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Oregon (very close but still not enough D to beat LSU if we don't stop ourselves like last night).
4. Georgia
5. Florida State

2. LSU

4. Georgia
5. Florida State

FSU's offense is better than ours. Yes you need defense, but Bama, FSU have those and a great offense. They'll stack the box and we'll probablly lose to both if we play them.
FSU can do that. Miles wants to throw 10 passes per game and use 5 different running backs bludgeoning people to death.
You can't do that against really good teams we suck at adjusting guys. Just the ways it is.

FSU defense is overrated. Period. Clemson would score less than 20 on LSU, yet FSU gave up almost 40

1. Bama
2. Oregon
2. Kansas State
4. Florida State
5. LSU
the polls early on should be very fluid
