Smith said he's more concerned about development of Newton as a man, than a leader, saying leadership is a process.
Second time in as many seasons Panthers captains have had to address Newton's demeanor. @RyanKalil and Jordan Gross did it late last season.

Damn I stopped watching pretty early in the game but it must have gotten pretty heated. Cam is so talented and obviously he is a much better player but it would be a shame to see a vince young type situation happen to him.

Umm Steve Smith isn't the guy to be correcting somebody about a bad attitude. But cam was being a pouty bitch in the post game conference last night. Poor body language, made it pretty obvious he didn't want to be there, gave shitty answers.
Losses happen. As the face of the team, you need to nut up, be a leader, take responsibility for the loss and act like a fricking adult. Not like a little kid who didn't get his way.
