Nice slate of games.
Bogalousa and Franklinton tonight, as well.

Brother Martin got a nice win against John Ehret last night. It appeared in the first quarter that Ehret's playmakers would be too much for a small and young Crusader defense.

But the Crusaders held them out of the end zone in the second quarter, got a big sack, and all of a sudden they had their heads up, full of confidence. It's what this young group really needed.

Special teams gave up a kick return for a touchdown, and Ehret drove for another in the fourth (?) but the defense was able to stop a 2-point conversion, then the offense put together a couple drives. Jared West for the Crusaders carried much of the rushing load, although Coach Bonis turned to senior wide-out Jacob Seward in a wildcat package that really stretched the Ehret defense and opened opportunities for the Crusader offense.

Final: Brother Martin 30-20 John Ehret.

Way to hang in there.

My senior year, we played against Ehret in the season opener.

They had Drake Nevis and Lamin Barrow on their D, as well as several other "NFL-ready-looking" players. They definitely looked the part of a college team, but we were able to wear them down with a powerful running game and, eventually they broke in the second half, and we were able to control the game. Congrats on the win

That is how you beat a team like Ehret.

They have some talent. DeJuan Garrison #7 looked pretty good; he has size, and athletic ability. But they played him both ways. They did, with him, as St. Augustine did with Craig Victor in BM's opener.
The BM secondary is small, and both Garrison and Victor are big receivers, they just go up top, over the corners, and more often than not, they come down with the ball, despite fairly good, tight coverage.

Yeah, I was looking at Fournette's highlights from the BM game and I noticed that BM's defense was very small this year. I assumed that was mostly due to a lack of experience.. maybe because last year's defense was made up of mostly seniors; idk.

But it's good to see them coming around though.

we have ultimate fighting in the St. Bernard Civic Center tonight...

i'll take that over this year's Owls (hosting Lakeshore tonight)

also East Jeff plays at Belle Chasse... if they win Coach Salt said they'll be undefeated for their showdown with St. Aug

Catholic has a good chance. I see central winning late though as I don't think catholic has anyone that can cover tripplet. Central 35- Catholic 28

Doesn't matter who wins, I've seen St. Aug. and despite last week's poor showing against Rummel, they're talented.

It depends upon how they react, and how they do against Hahnville tonight.

Triplett is legit

No rhyme intended

But, he is very talented. Extremely elusive and dangerous in the open field. He's only a junior, correct?

Central home game? Do they still use the middle school field(old high school). Have not been out that way since 2009.

Well, I was looking forward to this, until Catholic absolutely embarrassed us last week.
