Much of which us fans have already questioned

Key's:
quote:

The receivers dropped five passes, including two touchdown passes
Brees attempted just two deep balls, while 10 of his 42 passes (excluding balls thrown away) were thrown further than 10 yards in the air. 73% of his passes targeted RBs and TEs
Brees faced pressure on 40% of his drop backs. Bushrod was repeatedly abused, allowing seven hurries and three hits, -5.0 grade in pass protection.
Saints defense missed 10 tackles
Tom Johnson and rookie Akiem Hicks provided a spark in the passing game, though the pair combined to play just 35 snaps. Perhaps a testament to just how bad the pass rush is, the performance was a major improvement over Week 1 and most of 2011, as the defense generated pressure on 39% of Newton’s drop backs
Corey White (-2.0) allowed five catches on six targets for 120 yards. On the season White has given up completions on all but one pass targeted his way.
Pierre forced 12 missed tackles on 13 touches, gaining 77% of his total yards after contact; a performance good for an unheard of Elusive Rating of 717.9
Zach Strief graded negatively in run blocking
Mark Ingram ran the ball on 16 of his 21 snaps, while Darren Sproles had no carries in 36 snaps.

quote:

Saints worse-graded pass rush thus far. Of the defensive linemen, only reserves Akiem Hicks and Tom Johnson have graded positively for their pass rush efforts, and the two have only played 14% and 29% of the team’s defensive snaps, respectively. It may be time for these two, along with a guy like Martez Wilson.
Cassel completed just 6-of-15 passes and received a grade of -5.1 in pressure situations. Saints could blitz more often and get defenders matched up on the Kansas City backs. Peyton Hillis has allowed a sack and hurry in eight snaps in pass protection.
Brees has been hassled by opposing rushers on just over 12% more of his drop backs compared to last season. Jermon Bushrod (-7.4 in pass protection) has been a flat-out turnstile at LT, giving up 12 hurries and three QB hits to go along with Brees’ only sack.
Saints have run the ball over three-fourths of the plays Mark Ingram has been in the game. Similar patterns can be seen with the wide receiver and tight end groupings.

So get White off the field on defense, keep a RB/TE in to help Bushrod in pass protect, run the ball to the left side, Have Pierre touch the ball more, give Sproles some carries, make it less obvious Ingram will run while in the game, play more Hicks, Johnson, Wilson on defense, blitz more.

Damn, talk about a liability.

We need to get healthy at this position badly.

Might have helped to do evaluations and make adjustments during the offseason or preseason. Hopefully they start utilizing our most talented players and disguising what they plan to do better.

Offensive adjustments scare me, because without Payton I don't know if they will really make them. They might just try and stick with the system and hope that the players just execute better instead of going with what is currently working and feeding the hot hand.

The Saints are really hurting at the WR position. I like Moore, but he's a 3rd wr, not a 2. With Colston apparently hurt (again), we really do not have a 1, and there is little speed with any of the wideouts (including Henderson, who has slowed a step).
Time to bench all but Jordan on the DL. Ellis and Smith are liabilities .

Alright, go ahead Plawmac. Make that change.
By the way, how do the guys look in practice coach? How are they responding in meeting and in the film room compared to the guys you have starting now? Oh, wait, your not a coach are you...
Your just a dude that works at Walmart who watches them on Sunday and has an internet connection.
I see, I'll stick to what ever the "coaches decide", me.

Last time i checked, games were won on Sundays, not by how well someone performs in practice or in the film room.

If a player or players arent performing up to their potential, sit them in favor of starting someone else whos willing to give eberything theyve got. Send them the message that their current level of play is unnacceptable.

I fully endorse this approach.

Guys the coaches are gettng work done and grading every player on every play they make in games I promise you.
Spags will get the guys on the line that produce. He will not be scared to bench anyone. Give him time. He knows d-line talent.

then who is going to catch the ball? Does anyone really inspire fear right now in our lineup if you're leaving the TE and rb in?

So get White off the field on defense

i disagree, to an extent… i'd have him on the field, because he's one of the better tacklers in the secondary, but i wouldn't have him matched up in 1 v. 1 matchups all day…. either convert him to safety or only use him in a nickel package….
quote:

keep a RB/TE in to help Bushrod in pass protect

either that or get his sorry arse off the field…. while Bushrod is bad, Jones is worse, but i do know this is a make or break year for Brown…. if he's gonna want any team to consider him in free agency when he soon hits the streets, he better start putting up some solid numbers… maybe he should get a look….
quote:

Have Pierre touch the ball more, give Sproles some carries, make it less obvious Ingram will run while in the game,

i'll keep the 3 together to make it simple and say that this is basically what i was trying to say when i said we need to figure out our personnel groupings vs. down and distance…..
quote:

play more Hicks, Johnson, Wilson on defense

Well i'll be damned if i didn't say this too after last week's debacle...

Our offense may benefit from a few tweaks, but we still laid 27 on the Panthers. The Giants only scored 36 and they were dominating them the whole game. Cam was taking up play clock against us and we had turnovers.

If Spags can get the defense going our offense will benefit and get even better. It does seem Grubbs needs a little time to adjust. He is replacing Nicks after all.

I like Jaws and the fact that he is a tape watching freak.

On PTI yesterday, he did 30 seconds on the Saints O

Stated: Game plan does not look as creative as with CSP and the in game adjustments are severely lacking from the film he has watched compared to past seasons with CSP

It wasn't a shot at the current guys. They are who they are. It was more of a point of what the team is missing and what they probably won't get all year

and no the defense was not addressed

This KC game is a huge game for me in many ways, other than possibly keeping playoff hopes alive.

The Saints very well might be able to not play from behind. Hopefully we can play with a lead, or within one score and not trailing for once. I wan't to see how our offense will operate if we aren't forced into big plays, and when the defense is gambling making risky decisions trying to make a big play.

We once again play a secondary with huge voids, as we did against the Redskins. Let's see if our passing game can actually exploit that weakness.

We play a more traditional offense, against a guy who performs very poorly if he gets pressured. KC has a good line, and is good in pass protection, but the Saints need to get pressure on the QB. Lets see if our Secondary doesn't blow multiple assignments against a standard offense, and if our OLB's can actually stay in their gaps since they don't have to worry about a running QB.
