Spinoff of OT thread.

In the chorus, is the interpretation of the song, choice A or B

A. Never had to knock on wood

Or

B. Never had to.....knock on wood

This has been a longstanding debate between me and some friends.

It's B.

Trying to do the lyrics from memory, but he's asking whether he could handle a loved one dying. He hasn't had to, knock on wood, but he'd like to think he can. Cuz he knows someone who has.

"I'm not a coward, I've just never been tested. I'd like to think if I was, I would pass."

when interpreting the song it would make sense for it to be B. That said, when listening to him sing the song, without some sort of pause there, it comes off as A. I've always assumed it was A and never even thought about this question until now, lol.

He's sure it isn't good.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was the exact same way until this thread.
