Why does Ingram take touches from Thomas?

I said it last week and I still don't understand it.

Thomas gets at least 5 yards a touch. Ingram is lucky for 2 if that.

Thomas has more power, better vision, more versatility(arguably one of best screen RBs in NFL), and is a more patient runner...

I'm sick of Ingram taking his touches...

Only problem is Ingram does nothing fresh.

Hell, Ingram should be the one getting the least amount of touches. He should be 3 or 4 in the rotation.

I don't understand letting a back do all the work then down at the one yard line gets pulled for someone else yo score

Ingram ran well first few touches but as game went on, his affect disappeared and PT took it to the next level.

I would agree with you if this wasn't the case but it was. As soon as he had that last run, he was signaling to come out.

All seriousness, Ingram is a little better than people give him credit for but that being said...trade him! Thomas is one of the best all around backs in the league. Blocking, catching, getting extra yards on first contact, and he is faster than he looks. He also doesn't get hurt too often. So that being said, Ivory is plenty good enough for the Ingram carries and Cadet is good enough to spell Thomas because they are similar in skill set. Whatever we could get for Ingram on the defensive side will be worth it because that side is a joke. Normally teams are either good at run stopping or pass stopping and average in the other area. But this team isn't good at neither. I have played football at a high level and see some of the things that Spag's is trying to do and I think it would work if we had the right players. The only playerS that I wouldn't want to lose from that side right now is PR and Greer. After that they can all go.

One last thing since this became a rant, the loss of Nicks is worse than I thought. We are getting a lot of pressure up the middle and Drew cannot climb the pocket. Grubbs is doing a great job run blocking for us, which we knew he would do, but the front is getting pushed back on passing blocking. I think we have enough game film on us to help us clean some stuff up but so far its not looking to good.

Well, this is my longest post ever so I will end with this.

Is it just me or is Ingram only in when the play is him running the ball? When he subs in it's time for the defense to put 11 in the box.

I didn't either, but a friend from work said the same thing this morning when I mentioned Ingram getting the ball at the 1.

The reason why Thomas is better is because teams respect his screen and pass catching ability. They are worried about getting gashed by a screen so they don't sell out. When Ingram is in they sell out because Ingram isn't used to catch passes or screens

he signaled to the sideline after the nice run he has to come out. sproles and pt should get all the carries. I'd rather ivory than Ingram

Unless he's a McFadden or a Peterson taking a running back in the first round is a complete waste.

Every time the Saints gave up big yards yesterday I was thinking of what might have been with a player who could make a difference.
