DO previous injuries have Craig Loston playing scared/conservative?

After re-watching the North Texas game I saw Loston pull up quite a few times when he could have "Chad Jones'd" the ball carrier. Then again, after re-watching the Washington game I saw it a few more times. Mind you, he did lay a few good hits, but it seems to me that he is pulling up quite often.

Preseason Loston said that he has come to realize that by throwing his body around recklessly he his hurting both himself and the team. It is a sign of maturity that he understands he can't help the team or get better himself if he is on the sideline injured. He said he wants to take his shots more prudently going forward, not just going willy nilly for the kill shot every time. Sounds great to me. Lets see how much he improves going forward.

bad angle on the long TD in the 1st game notwithstanding, I think he's played well.

what's surprised me is how much he's played the single high safety while Reid has dropped down and been more of a wildcard almost like Laron used to be. I'd kinda like to see that flip flopped to let Reid stay high and break on passes.

He has been running with a limp both games, but he has played well in both games from my perspective.

I doubt he'll play much this weekend. Mingo either.

Thought he definitely played better against UW. Reid hasn't played like a first rounder either though.

Loston made the comment before the season that he had to focus on making sound tackles instead of blowing people up because he needed to remain healthy for the entire season...

I think Reid might be better if he switches back to FS. Wasn't that his position the past 2 years?

they're interchangable in chavis' defense, so not much of a difference

I've had a few people tell me Loston and reid in particular haven't impressed them. The long play against north Texas has already been mentioned but how many opportunities have they had to make the big play. The line and linebackers aren't letting the opposing RBs reach the secondary. It's not like Price was testing our secondary throwing deep balls due in large part to the great pressure we were getting on him. We r only 2 games in, I think they will both have very good years
