backyard bow practice

Are there any laws concerning shooting a bow in the city limits or in a neighborhood?
I live in a townhome complex in Houston and want to shoot my bow without having to go to a range and drop $7 to shoot. I have a large grass area behind my unit that no one else would be in the shooting line. Just wandering the legality of it.

I shoot mine in my backyard, in the city limits, but I have a fence.

never mind....
well, i was gonna tell you about a couple of goofy neighbors i've had... at one location, my neighbor shot several arrows that he thought caught and were hidden at the bottom of a fence and he would go collect them whenever he ran out of arrows.. But, that person brought the couple weeks of arrows back to him that were scattered all over in their backyard..
at another location my neighbor was in his climbing stand practicing and his golden retriever ran by at the wrong time.. I think it was a ricochet pass thru..
but, never mind..

I used to shoot in a field behind the mall in Longview with no ramifications with that said I also got cited for shooting a pistol in city limits too. Only cost around $50 IIRC. I'd shoot until someone said something can't cost that much.

I doubt it. Maybe a HOA guideline or something though.

If there is it would be a local ordinance. I shoot in my yard every day. I have to shoot from across the street to practice at 50 yards and I've never had any problems.
ETA my house is in a cul de sac so the only traffic is from my neighbors

No. No laws in Houston. I'd just do it. If the fuzz comes around, just respectfully play dumb and the most they'll do is tell you not to shoot on property that isn't yours. I doubt that even that would happen.
