The football is like an extension of his foot similar to the way the basketball seemed to be an extension of the "Pistol's" hand.

Wing's first punt in the UW game was a 60 yarder into a stiff wind that kicked straight out of bounds around the 5 yard line.
His second punt was just as amazing to me in that he put a back spin on it that almost allowed it to bounce straight up near the goal line when it hit the ground.

I've been watching football since the 1960's and have never seen a punter that could manipulate and control a football like Wing.
It will be very interesting to see where he goes in the draft in a couple of years.

Completely agree. It's no question the best i've seen as well.

It's a hallmark of ALes Miles team to have great special teams play and specialists to boot

Unfortunately, I think that's probably going to happen.

He's a spectacular punter, but damn, unless he's going back to play aussie rules football for a boatload of money, he should be at LSU for a few more years.

Geez! even his punting average reminds me of the "Pistol"

He might be having too much damn fun to leave. There is nothing like college years my friends.
Besides, whenever he leaves he will make money and for a lot of years. He's not from a bad family situation or anything like that. His dad has been very successful
I think he still wants to score a touchdown!

Great analogy!

...and Mett is like Pistol Pete with the football in his hand...alike right down to the hair style and moustache.

He's not going to improve his draft position as a punter by staying an extra two years. He's also old for a RS Soph and according to those that know him, he has a strong dislike for school (academics). Why would he spend the next two years punting for LSU when he can get paid for it?

I dunno.....maybe he likes all the attention/adulation he gets here?...not gonna happen for a punter in the NFL.

He said at a player interview session earlier this year that he's staying through senior year. A lot can change in 2 years but that's what he said

I'm not really seeing this as the grand boom you envision it to be, but whatever gets you off I suppose.
