What do you think about our basketball coaches not being active on Twitter?

Big deal, or no big deal?

Ranking the D1 basketball coaches by Twitter followers

As far as I can tell, LSU assistants Charlie Leonard (@LSUcoachL) and Tom Kelsey (@coachkelsey) are the only staff members on Twitter. Neither are very active.

He was bland most of the time. Unfortunately, he didn't last until the season started so we could see some post-game tirades.

I would think Johnny Jones would be the type to be active on there.

I don't think it is a big deal though. It may be a good way to get initial contact with a recruit but it's not needed

It's really not that big a deal IMO. Trent had a twitter and boy did it pay dividends

But he never used it, so he may as well not have had one.

Does LSU require their head coaches to have accounts? If anything it can't hurt in recruiting and could possibly help.

Have there been any rulings by the NCAA on coaches contacting players on twitter? That's my only concern.

They can. Not sure of the exact rule, but I'm sure it's the same as Facebook. I think it's unlimited.

Okay. I remembered there being some discussion about it.
