Deng Deng is a 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward who has grown three inches since the start of his senior year at Cottonwood High in Salt Lake City. A native of Melbourne, Australia, Deng Deng committed to Long Beach State last fall but NCAA Clearinghouse issues prevented him from enrolling at the school. He spent the second semester of the last academic year at Lee College in Baytown, Texas, and is on track to graduate with a two-year degree after a season with the Rebels. He will have three full seasons of eligibility at LSU. The Tigers will play the 2012-13 season with 11 scholarship players after losing power forward Calvin Godfrey but added New Orleans native and two-year University of New Orleans starter Marcus Carmouche. He's a good player. He's one of several Aussies I've been following. I think there's another one there at Lee with him.

Here we go again...recruiting an academic casualty...is that our only options?
I guess so..........
When you consider, we lost two players at CRITICAL NEED POSITION...and we are recruiting somebody who did not qualify academically, ALREADY, at some left-wing-college....you can bet your bottom dollar, it will be another "box of chocolates gamble," and apparently we are ok with this approach.....

This is a pickup we really need. We needed a JUCO big man, only 3 scholarship big men on the roster right now and 1 is a senior.
I hope this is the start of a VERY good 2013 class. Go out and get the big high school kids now JJ
