We live and die for Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. We count down the days like children counting down to Christmas. The anticipation is killing us throughout the entire off season. Game day is here, the party begins days before kickoff. We have the biggest tailgate, the biggest party, the biggest pre-game build-up with all of the pomp and pageantry. The game begins.....and the damned stadium is freaking half empty at half, and virtually empty by the end of the game.
I don't guess that I will fully understand it. It's part of who we are I guess. My theory is that all of the pre-game activities and excitement just wear people out and they are ready to go by half time because the game, when compared with the rest of the party, is boring.
Maybe some of the people who leave the games can explain and enlighten those of us who stay for the whole thing?

Yeah completely unique to LSU. What other college football experiences are you knowledgeable in?

Well considering the nightmare it was for people from Nola to get to baton rouge, people from out of town being kicked out of their hotels and having to drive home after the game, I'm not surprised by this at all. Bot to mention there were a few other actual football games on tv. What we played last night was a scrimmage.

I'm sorry, I didn't intend for my post to be a flame. I'm not going to spend my Sunday morning arguing on Tigerdroppings. I'm just wondering why people spend so much time and money being excited about Saturday night in Tiger Stadium and then get only half, (if that) of their money's worth.

It's just a simple question. If it offends you, read another thread.

I left at halftime so that I could get home and post a bunch of stuff on the rant about how the season is over....

I agree with you. The number 3 team in country played their home opener last night. Should've been more people staying. It reminded me of the Troy game a few years ago.

D3pends on the game...if a blowout...people leave. If down to the wire...nobody leaves. Not that hard a concept....and definitely not unique to lsu....

this discussion has been going on for decades. when the game is decided, people leave. i have done it myself on several occasions. hell, when the game is over it is time to clean up the tailgate and go home. it really is that simple.

FYI, you're being passive aggressive like a woman.

If you have a problem, grow a spine and scream it from your soapbox instead of whispering it in the crowd.

It's simple. People want to beat the godawful traffic. Personally, if I go to a game, I stay the whole time but then again I don't go to many.

The way to "beat the traffic" yesterday was to stay until the end of the game. I've never had an easier time getting home than yesterday.

I always view the traffic problems at Saints & Tiger games to be worth going to the game. Hell sit there in traffic and enjoy the post game shows on the radio. I view it as part of the experience.

Settle down buddy. Sounds like you are the one offended. I was just pointing out that this is not unique to LSU. The only reason I can think of is that with a game like this, the party outside is more entertaining

I don't care how many other fan bases do it. It's embarrassing.
