For those old enough to remember, my all-time favorite inside LB in LSU history is/was Albert Richardson. The guy was truly a scary individual that had the ability to hit like a train. Apparently broke like 12 helmets while at LSU.

Other than Tody Caston, i don't really remember LSU having another Inside LB of that caliber - as a run stopper.

So with the current freshman class of quality LB's, who, if any, do you think has the tools to fill that role?

My first thought is Ronnie Feist - he seems to have the physical size and speed, but the x-factor, IMHO is an almost psychotic killer instinct, but that's just me.

What say you?

I've read that Feist and Louis are learning all 3 LB positions. They are the biggest of the 6 we signed (although I haven't seen pictures of Granier since camp started). I would expect one of them to back Minter up.

Debo hits like a freight train and plays with a bit of crazy in him. He's the answer to your question.

For MLB, I think it will be Duab. Debo and Alexander, on the edges, with great back-ups should make the next 3-4 years very solid in the middle. Minter will be awesome this year,as well.

You forget Michael Brooks - before he tore up his knee RB's were scared Shiteless of him! After his knee he had several good years with the Broncos. I saw him play against Tulane in 1984 or 1985 in T.S. When he hit TU's RB you could hear the pop all the way into the stands. No doubt pre knee injury he would have been the greatest ILB ever at LSU.

You all have named some great ones.

One guy who might have been one of our best if injuries hadn't bit him was Mike Calais. Dude was on his way before his knees went South. I also remember Ricardo Washington with some monster pops. That one against Vandy on a goal line stand that ended the game. Doesn't get any better.

The future has some serious potential. Feist the Beast. How about Melvin Jones coming in? I hear he carries a wallop.

Brooks was incredible, but didn't play in the middle.

Eric Hill is my all time favorite. Played in the late 80's and was an assassin.

Was only 5-6 when brooks played. I didn't start watching LSU football till I was 8-9. I 've heard he was a beast.

Mike Calais was pretty beastly his freshman year before he got hurt. He's pretty forgotten in LSU lore.
