I live out of state so I need it shipped. I'm looking to get a 5 gallon or 10 gallon pot and burner but have a few questions.

Should I get something with a cast iron lid or is an aluminum lid good enough? Do this larger pots come seasoned? Does anyone use a jambalaya burner to fry also or will flat bottom ovens not sit well.

I see a lot of places have this King Kooker. Would anyone recommend this. LINK

I don't mind spending a little more to get what I want but don't want to throw away money either.

TIA

Cast Iron is best obviously, but its heavy.
Aluminum is good, but can get warped over time.
I have the flat stainless lids for my 10 and 15 gallon pots.

I don't think any come preseasoned, but I could be wrong.

I use my burner for frying on occasion, depends on how your burner is set up. I have a seperate burner and stand. Some are built all in one which would make frying on it difficult.

I think that King Kooker is an imported pot. Watch they have American made and imported. Imported is OK but have a much rougher surface on the inside.
American made pots are usually 4-1/2 gallon not 5.

Check these places.

I have the 15 gal setup from R&R w/casters, oversized burner and split lid w/hinges. I have never had a problem with mine no matter what weather conditions I cook in. I'm about to get a 5 gal set up from him. You will not be disappointed with any of his cookers.

Cast Iron Lid

I have never seen a preseasoned large jambalaya pot.

I use my stand to fry large quantity items at least once a year around Christmas if not more.

I got mine from LINK and I love it

But, as I clicked the link it appears as though they don't have the jambalaya pots on their website. I'm pretty sure they still sell then though
