Or at least, what kind of contact can coaches have right now? I'm not up to speed on the dates.

I'm not sure it's official, but the coaches are getting ready for the season. As important as recruiting is, winning games takes all their time right now.

I'm not exactly sure what the period is but usually September 1 starts the contact period. Granted with the Aug 1 offer date now, that could have changed. I'll try to find the period calender and post it.

Aug 1 - Nov 24 is a quiet/evaluation period. 42 days of evaluation with one visit allowed , to the kids school or game, for evaluation. This is when the coaches go to kids games and practices. Phone calls and communication is usually allowed during this time.

Nov 25 - signing day is the contact period, where the staff uses the in homes. 6 off campus visits allowed for each kid with 1 HC visit allowed. In this period, there are several little dead or quiet period mixed. Holiday vacation and things like that. Too detailed for me to remember since I'm no copy/paste guy.

I think it is slow for all the normal reasons but also because I think this class is done. I believe the remaining spots have already been doled out to silent commits. We just have to wait around until it is official.
