I have a town home In Baton Rouge by campus and was looking to tile the den area. Room is about 15x15 and the tile is pretty cheap. Anyone know about how much it would cost to have someone buy the materials and lay it for me? Thanks in advance.

Some of the new engineered "hardwoods" do indeed look nice. It makes laminate look like the cheap pap that it is.

Not that hard to learn how to tile and the tools can be purchased and or rented pretty cheap. Worth the effort as then you can tile other rooms. Material is cheap, labor is what kills you.

This.

A buddy just got hardwood floors. They were going to charge him 4k to INSTALL. The wood was around 5k alone. He installed it himself.

I tiled my bathroom last year - It really is an easy DIY project. Biggest exspense was a tile saw but you can get one that will do the job for $80 at Home Depot.

On the cheap 2:50 to 3 bucks per sq ft for labor. Plus materials.
