What is the story? Someone said they won a gumbo contest a while back. I have been wanting to try it out but wasn't sure.

Not at all. The idea was that the restaurant is building its reputation on their gumbo. I do like some good gumbo though.

I dont believe Dempseys is "building a reputation" ...... They have been doing well for a long time.
