I just inherited my grand father's deer rifle. Rifle is a stainless Browning A-bolt with a 26" ported barrel chambered in 7mm rem mag and it has a mid-late 90's Swarovski Habicht Nova 3-12x56 scope. Problem is that after years of non-use the magnification dial and turret caps are frozen. I don't know if i should try some oil or just send it into the factory for repair. I would hate for the oil to get into the optics and screw something up. Anyone on here ever experience a frozen scope? and if so what did you do to fix it.

Can't get the caps off by hand to even adjust the zero and the focus ring to adjust magnification won't budge either to adjust it from 3-12 power
it is stuck on 6x
