Very good news indeed. The German u21s are playing a game in like a week or two, so it's expected that he'll turn down that offer and play in the friendly for us. Looks like us being the first to offer him a full national team opportunity was the deciding factor. I mentioned it in another thread, but I think the Julian Green saga will play out similarly- whoever shows a more genuine interest and "plan" for him, so to speak, will be the team he plays for.

I read someplace that Arriola has been working to gain Mexican Citizenship. Did that come up on the podcast?

I haven't listened to it yet, but it probably does. It's not to be a Mexican team player. I think it's honestly regarding visa issues/international player slots and stuff like that. He has a Mexican grandfather so that's how he qualifies. He actually still lives in California with his parents and crosses the border for training and games.
