Damn...I knew he was having some issues, but I didn't think they were bad enough to miss the open.

I'm not the biggest Rafa guy in the world. I don't enjoy his game, I hate his on court behavior, and his fanbase generally annoys me (bobbyray excluded). That said, I missed that dude at the Olympics, and realized the sport would have been horrible without him as Fed would have 22 majors and two or three calendar slams. I hope that buttpicking Mallorcan gets better.

Cue the conspiracy theories that he failed a drug test and the ATP told him to sit out six months.

With Djokovic stepping up right now we can all rest easy knowing that Fed cannot get a calander slam.

It's hard to put into words how much I hate that. I loved when Djoko made fun of him for that. I mean it sucks that he's injured bit I really don't care since this can be a benefit to Fed. I mean if the Saints are in the NFC championship game against the Packers and Rodgers got knocked out the week before I'm not going to be upset.

I have a hard time watching him as well. He's one of the greatest of all time no doubt, and with tennis I don't really hate any players like I do most other sports, but I really really don't like Nadal.

Only increases the distance of Federer as the GOAT further than the Butt-Picker.

Wish he would withdraw from the next French Open instead. At least someone else would have a chance to win it.

This blows, hes my favorite player in tennis. I cant Novak, his on court antics just piss me off. I think we all know it comes down to Novak, Andy Murray, and Fed. Wish Roddick had more than a power serve...

Never knew any GOAT in any sport to be completely dominated by opponent when both were in primes

In what other sport do they play on distinctively different surfaces? Of Nadal's 18 wins over Fed, 12 have been on clay. It's unfortunate for Fed's h-2-h record that he's the second best clay player of the recent era. If his skills on clay were more similar to Pete Sampras, he'd be losing in the 3rd round or QFs of clay tourneys and would have played Nadal on that surface a lot less (which would result in him having a significantly better winning percentage against him).

If not Federer, who is the tennis GOAT and why?

Thats a part of tennis. And its not like Federer has dominated Nadal on hard courts and grass either. In fact, I believe their h2h record is 4-4 on hard courts, 2-1 on grass (Fed).

Rod Lavers accomplishments speak for themselves.
