Also, the Weapons of Dorne is an interesting little short video on the Sand Snakes...

This may have been covered before, but does anyone else feel that the show hasn't really developed Rhaegar Targ and Lyanna in the event that R+L=J is true?
I've never bought into this. For one, it is stated more than once how Ned came about Jon and who with. Also, Jon just got Julius Caesared at the end of the last book.

"[The show bosses] know as much as George RR Martin knows. He hasn’t written the books, but he knows how he wants it to end. Well, I think he’s written one of them now. I don’t know when it comes out but I’d assume soon. All the details, they’re going to have to come up with them themselves. It’s going to be interesting because I think the show is going to finish before the last book comes out. There’ll be quite a big difference when it does."

Probably, but that will not stop me from hoping that he's right. It's the first positive winds blurb we've had, maybe at all.

Either way the Martin is still trolling us. I am hoping he is setting up for a reverse April fools joke and he announces that the book has a release date and is serious.

Either way, I am pretty positive he is going to complete most of the final book before releasing winds. He's realized that he keeps writing into corners and writing both at once solves that. It helps him get them out faster as well as improve the quality.

I've always felt Spring will not take him long to write. Winds has to accomplish enough that Spring can be one giant conclusion, which has to be incredibly tough with so much yet to be resolved. He knows his ultimate end game. He will just need to figure out which character survive as well as which snacks they will be eating and we should have a quick release.

Reading that it does make sense that Dream of Spring will be easier to write since he's known the majority of the outcome since the beginning. Winds of winter has to set up the ending and he has to figure out a way to tie it all together and make all the ancillary decisions on minor storylines.

I also believe he reads the fan theories and he might have cherry picked some small things that he liked.

Definitely agree. Winds of Winter will be a very complicated book, but I think A Dream of Spring will mostly focus on the characters coming together and battling the Others. Think towards the end, the only POV characters that won't be in the final battle are Arianne, Bran, and maybe Arya. Winds of Winter though, the characters will be all over the place, which makes it much more difficult to write.

I read an theory the other day about the others being the good guys in all of this. Needless to say, I was somewhat convinced.
