I agree that he's making himself look like a huge a-hole; referring to his people as "minions" makes him sound like a huge dick.

Incredibly frustrating. I've tried to tell myself it was not the case, but he's written himself into a corner he doesn't know how to get out of. I'm not saying he won't figure it out, but him taking so long is clearly a sign that he's struggling to fill in the blanks. I'm betting he could write the second half of Spring in a matter of months, it's getting there that's giving him fits.

Im thinking, possibly wishful thinking, that he has almost both books wrapped up and he's just trying to figure out how to split them up and fill in some minor details. Like it said could be wishful thinking

I think he probably has a decent amount written just based on what he's released in chapters at multiple cons. But with his "I only write at home" mantra, he just hasn't made time until now to really finish it up.

I'm with you honestly. I was much more pissed that they left out who Tysha actually was in that episode. Yes, it was still a great scene and episode, but Tyrion really had no reason to go visit Tywin in the show. He'd already sent him to the front lines of a battle and King's Landing to have likely been slaughtered, what's one more death trap in their relationship? Knowing that he truly ruined the only time he had been happy and having the love of his life being brutally raped by his guards, Tywin had to pay there instead of waiting for vengeance later. He needed to know of Tysha at that moment and make him pay for it, and it's an incredible chapter.

I think he has finished the last 2 books. He's just giving the impression that he has to finish it. The reason for that is that he doesn't want anybody to know the ending until it's on screen. If book readers know the ending, Game of Thrones finale wouldn't be as epic. I think they're going to try to make history.

I agree that leaving the Tysha stuff out of the show was worse than leaving Stoneheart out. It was the driving force of Tyrions motivation to kill his father, hate Jaime and controlled his emotions throughout ADWD. I really just wanted Stoneheart to be in the show, preferably the final scene of the season, to see the Hodor's reaction to it.
