But PLEASE, if you want my autograph, come to one of these four signings. Don't stop me in the hotel lobby or on the street or in a restaurant when I am trying to have dinner.

Wow, that is kind of nervy for him to say that, but we all know how much GRRM loves his dinner time.

All this bitching about GRRM is starting to remind me of the RANT on game day.

Exactly. The hotel lobby, street, and during dinner are the times to ask him when his fat arse is going to write the damn books instead of going to comic com.

re: Crackpot ASOIAF Theories SPOILERS

I have no issue with George going to Comic Con to promote Game of Thrones.

I do have issues with him not having any motivation to finish this series/is going to take the 'easy way' out by having David and Dan finish it for him on TV. You would think that with the TV show, that it would've rekindled his love and interest in ASOIAF and inspire him to do the series--and fans--justice by finishing it in a timely manner.

Same here. I think Bran is being groomed by Bloodraven for some bigger cause than what is revealed so far in the books, and I'm highly suspicious of Bloodraven's intentions.

I think Jon is the "hero"/Song of Ice (Stark) and Fire (Targaryen). Best of both worlds.

I definitely believe he'll have a big role to play in the last 2 books. Azor Ahai FTW.

re: Crackpot ASOIAF Theories SPOILERS

Thanks for posting that .

Also y'all, I want to discuss some Crackpot theories about Sansa:

Supposedly one of George's editors, or some insider, says there's going to be a "controversial" Sansa POV chapter in TWOW.

Forum of Ice and Fire link to thread

-A lot of people think it's either going to be:

A) Something with Sansa exploring her sexuality--willingly--perhaps with LF? or HtH?
B) Sansa killing SweetRobin
C) Sansa killing LF (some fans think that's too early in TWOW to occur and don't see LF death happening until later in the last 2 books rather than at the beginning of TWOW)
D) Sansa having a Dany handmaiden moment

Also, I found this post on another thread on the same forum that blows my mind...never thought about it before.

Scroll down to the post by TZE--very interesting read

The TLDR summary is that Sansa and Jon are somewhat foils to each other in a lot of ways, and never seem to interact one-on-one with each other.

-Jon is most like Ned and the North, keeps the Old Gods; Sansa is most like Catelyn and the South, keeps the Seven)
-Jon is offered Lordship in ASOS, Sansa takes on the role of a Bastard
-Despite that Jon and Sansa are somewhat distant from each other in AGOT, they both seem to love each other deep down as siblings and both tend to think about each other in the books every once in a while (Sansa probably used Jon as her 'inspiration' to be Alayne)
-Sansa loved singers and songs, Jon had no use for them or liked them until he heard Mance sing

quote:

The Littlefinger/Lysa/Sansa dynamic played out almost as a vicious, over-the-top caricature of the Ned/Catelyn/Jon dynamic, with Sansa forced to literally stand in a (heavily skewed and sensationalized) version of Jon's shoes: Catelyn saw Jon as a living representation of another woman that she feared Ned loved more than her, and Lysa saw Sansa as a living representation of Catelyn, the woman that Lysa (rightly) feared Littlefinger loved more than her. Sansa seemed to have a much closer relationship with her mother than with her father (the exact opposite of Jon), but "Alayne" had a much "closer" relationship with Littlefinger than with Lysa---Sansa takes on with Littlefinger (a much skeevier version of) the relatively close father/child relationship that Jon had with Ned.

In her final chapter of AFFC, Sansa thinks to herself:

Quote
She had not thought of Jon in ages.

quote:

Or so Sansa tells herself. But I think there's a pretty good chance Sansa had actually been subconsciously thinking about Jon ever since she took on the Alayne Stone identity, because Sansa seems to be subconsciously patterning her "Alayne Stone" persona around Jon Snow. Sansa wants "Alayne" to be 14 years old, because "She had decided that Alayne Stone should be older than Sansa Stark". How old was Jon the last time Sansa saw him? 14 years old. She becomes worried at the prospect of dancing, because she seems to think that, for some unexplained reason, Alayne Stone might not enjoy dancing.

quote:

Re Tze's interesting analysis of Sansa and Jon,

This goes a long way to disprove the notion a lot of people have that Sansa hated Jon, or that they were cold and distanced. The description of how Sansa had a hard time fitting Jon into her world view I think is spot on. It also seems to fit perfectly with how she uses Jon as somewhat of a model for Alayne Stone too (I think there is a bit of Mya in there too, but Sansa knew Jon longer, and it should be an obvious choice for her to draw on her experiences of Jon).

Again I think people project Cat onto Sansa here: because she looks like Cat, she must feel the same as Cat, but we never see Sansa showing any dislike for Jon at all, nor do we see Jon thinking of Sansa in a negative manner. He does think some snarky thoughts about how Lysa, Cat's sister, would like to support Ned's bastard son with food, but that is all.

I also share the opinion that the fact that we never see Sansa and Jon interact on the pages is by intent. It will make any future interaction have more impact, and as if they met for the first time. Which in some ways it will be, since Jon is no longer a bastard, and Sansa is no longer a lady and a possible future queen.

I'd take a stab that Littlefinger rapes Sansa.

re: Crackpot ASOIAF Theories SPOILERS

See, I think LF violently raping Sansa is too predictable.

Here are my reasons: doesn't he want her 'intact' to marry HtH? Isn't that what is hinging on her marriage to Tyrion being annulled?

If anything, what would be more shocking/controversial to me is Sansa having consensual sex with LF and enjoying it. I could see LF wanting her once she is "married," but not before; that is not how LF operates.

Also, I think Sansa Alayne will use "her sex" as an advantage like drunk Cersei suggested to her in book 2.

Or, it could be her killing SweetRobin or being an accomplice/participating in his eventual death from all this poisoning.

That's my vote. I was rereading the last two books a single POV at a time, which helps in noticing different things, I think. In the Arya chapters, they made yet another reference to Sweetsleep and how much to use to stop seizures and how much to use to kill someone. LF uses Sweetsleep in increasingly large doses on little Robert (SweetRobin). I could see SR doing something that pushes Sansa too far and she intentionally poisons him. Also an interesting play on words if they use Sweetsleep to kill SweetRobin.

Back on the theory of Rhaegar and Lyanna and that Lyanna did not die in child birth, I found this other tidbit from the Arya chapters. She says that Daereon was singing a song in the Happy Port "about some stupid lady throwing herself off of some stupid tower because her stupid prince was dead". Fits my theory, just a different cause of death. This actually fits better. Word reaches Lyanna at the Tower of Joy that Rhaegar has been killed by Robert. She throws herself from the tower and is gravely injured, but doesn't die. Ned arrives just before she dies and she makes him promise to take care of Aegon (Jon Snow).

I read a crackpot theory on the ASOIAF forums that Ashara Dayne secretly married Howland Reed and faked her death to live with him in Greywater Watch.

Crackpot: Howland and Ashara married
