We are going tehre for my dad's birthday tonight. I didn't choose the place, and I've only eaten there like twice. What should I get? Is anything decent there?

I've actually never been to an Applebee's. Where there is an Applebee's there is almost always a Chilli's, which I don't mind from time to time. I would play it safe and get a burger.

I had to click on this thread because I have a $10 gift card from there that I'll probably be forced to use some night...sounds like I'll probably go with a burger.

I just checked out their menu online, and they have a number of things that look pretty legit. Of course thats the point of putting pictures, I guess. So at least it looks good. I may try a pasta dish or a chicken and shrimp dish. Steaks are out since it wouldn't begin to touch the taste of a home grilled steak.

yep. at the restaurant order the safest thing on the menu .. which is probably their chips and salsa.

The quesadilla burger used to be pretty legit, but that was like 6 years ago or longer.

Just for an update:
I will not be returning to Applebee's anytime soon, if ever. I didn't enjoy my experience. I ordered the Bourbon Street chicken and shrimp. The food wasn't good, the service was slow. I'd give it about a 5/10.

I've had plenty of good meals from Applebee's. It used to be our go to place.
They used to have a blue cheese steak. It was always really good. Orange Chicken Bowl as a favorite of mine for a while.
