I was thinking about the weaknesses of the defense earlier; I see it this way for the team:

Defense:
Strong LB
Strong Safety

I hate to have SS on there but until Harper shows he can be a cover safety when he has to; he just doesn't seem to mesh with this scheme. I expect to catch heat for this because Harper is an excellent role player. Hate to have a guy getting so much of the defensive payroll on here. Flip side is; Harper as a weakness says good things about your D.

Stronside linebacker is obvious.

Offense:
Tackles

The only weakness I can find on this O is offensive tackles. Bushrod is good but not great. He is never going to be that guy that can hold his own against elite pass rushers. I think he is more than good enough though. Strief is sort of more of the same. Being a weakness on this offense is not saying much.

Some people are saying WR's might be an issue, but I disagree. Colston and Moore are solid 1-2's imo. When lance was pretty much our number 1 WR for a few games last year; he stepped up big. He even played great on the outside. With Graham demanding so much attention; I can see him having a huge year.

It's kind of amazing how small this list is. This is one of the most complete teams of the SP era I believe. Too bad he isn't around to coach it.

as good as things appear and as high as our hopes are this still falls under UNKNOWN until we see it in action. The challenges, the timeouts, the halftime adjustments, the pulling of a player cuz he has the wrong shoes on, etc.- all of those things will be handled by we don't even know who for 6 games, then Vitt. It would be no surprise to end up counting one or two losses over this. Even with that, we could see a better final result of the season than we did last year at 13-3.

at this point, i think you have to mention corner backs. we have big health concerns with very little depth.

I was also thinking cb's would be a problem earlier this training camp; but white and patrick and johnson have showed me enough that I'm confident with them in the game. Having 4 capable cb's is just about all you could ask for, right?

I hope malcom jenkins being a difference maker is the missing obstacle for this defense cause he's appearing to have made a turn for the better...

after seeing Johnson, Patrick, and White with the ones in extensive playing I'm very happy and secure about the CBs. PRob is back and Jabari before the season starts so we're good.

Yep, you're right. As long as they can stay on the field it will be ok.

Hell no, CSP will be chewing away at home.

As to the OP, I think safety is our weakest position, and I say that hoping that Malcolm Jenkins will prove me wrong this year.

I don't the secondary will be as big of an issue as a whole because of the scheme being put in place. I have faith that Jenkins will flourish and Harper will step up

Fear does not exist in this dojo

Pain does not exist in this dojo

Defeat does not exist in this dojo

We do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak. Here, in the streets, in competition: A man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy.

I think the schedule is one of our biggest weaknesses.

We play a more balanced AFC division, the self-proclaimed best division in the NFC, plus we get the Packers and 49ers while the rest of the division gets markedly weaker teams for those 2 games. The schedule itself could be the diff between 13-3 and 11-5 or 10-6
