Great Moments in Hornets History - William Hung

Mates, do you remember when William Hung performed at Halftime of the 2004 1st round Eastern Conference Playoffs against Miami?
The Hornets won, forcing a deciding Game 7 in Miami against Dwayne Wade and the Heat.
Some anecdotes about this game - I remember there was a huge dilemma among my group of mates in that LSU was playing some stupid fricking baseball exhibition in the Superdome and lots of people wanted to go to that over an NBA playoff game. I also remember something else going on that day - maybe Jazzfest?
One other anecdote - I remember Saints QB Aaron Brooks was at the game and he didn't know who William Hung was. I think they showed him on the scoreboard during Hung's performance of Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and Brooks was like "WTF?" He looked genuinely upset/mad. He was the only fan shown on the jumbotron who wasn't laughing or goofing around to Hung.

Thankfully, no.
What I remember is Dwyane Wade basically having his coming out party

Yeah, you did some real researching for this. Hilarious.

Wow, I remember that now that you say it.
I remember in Game 7 we got down by double digits but that old 3-point specialist kept draining treys for us to keep us in the game. Forget his name - black dude.
Wade was too much in the end though.

Let me guess, you kicked it with Hung after that game and you hooked him up with some grade-A hash.

I was at that game. That was funny. Game 7 was lost because Davis refused to foul per Tim Floyd's instructions. Baron Davis was and is a loser.

You beat me to it. Davis completely fricked that game up. What a waste of natural talent . . . and air for that matter.

You are partially right. He was looking for some Xanax (must be an Asian thing) but I told him I wasn't into the whole pill scene so he bailed.

Jeez no. Lynch never hit a key three - let alone multiple ones in a game 7.
Steve Smith was who it was.

Yeah, I meant Smitty. I always get those two mixed up.

If you're talking about Game 7 Hornets vs Miami Heat on May 4, 2004 the box score shows Steve Smith scored 25 points for the Hornets, hitting 5 of 7 from 3 point range in a losing effort. Miami wins 85 to 77.

Smitty singlehandedly kept our Bees in that game 7 despite BD1 tapping out early.

Remember the Heat huddling up during an unofficial timeout and BD joining the Heat huddle? Only Baron...
