It's free as shite from Bethesda. Search google.

If you've never played it. . .

. . .wow.

Dated graphics, sure.

But man. . .that is the biggest map I have ever seen in an open world game.

I just did a quick check, and it took me 15 minutes to walk from one end of Daggerfell city to the other side. . .in a straight line.

And that's just one city, that makes up a dot in one province. . .for which there are a dozen provinces.

For those that get off on the exploration aspect of Oblivion and Skyrim, you'll have fun here.

This has to be the largest map in gaming history.

I loved Daggerfall when I was 14. I hope you created a custom class. It's really easy to spec a fairly unstoppable level 1 guy.

Also make sure you answer the question to get an ebony dagger at the start. It's quite useful against the imps in the first dungeon.

If it wasn't so goddamn buggy I would install it too.

And stay out of the capital city at night.

And go into shops and loiter until after hours. You are then free to loot whatever you want.

Bethseda claims the game's map is twice the size of Great Britain?

Jesus what?

Huge.

I've never seen anything like it.

Can't imagine how long they must have worked on it.

That's not a plus to me... a wide open map is great, but not 15 minutes to cross one city.

Asheron's call 1 was just right (world map size) IMO.

I bought the sucker when it came out but it was buggy beyond belief.

I actually didn't buy Morrowind until years after it came out because of how horrific Daggerfall was when it came out.

But, it was insanely huge. Too big. Half the time I would run out of time before I could complete the missions.

Having a horse was essential in any city. Fast travel was key as well. I never walked anywhere.

I remember the dungeons being extremely difficult. Not that the enemies were tough, but it was impossible to find your way around in them. Each dungeon, even for the most basic of quests, was a huge maze where everything looked the exact same. The map (in 3D) was completely useless.
