Tips on best place to park for Saints game

Will be there on the 25th for the Texans game but I wanted to get this figured out now. We haven't been to a game in years. I think it was the '89 preseason or something, so neither my dad or I remember the drill.
Don't mind that much of a walk, but nothing from Slidell. I probably could google this, but I know there is a wellspring of experience posting on the ST, so why not tap it TWSS.

its preseason. there will be like 15k people there, you'll be able to park in a number of garages or on the street within 7-8 blocks, tops.

No matter what game it is, I love the medical center parking area. If you look at the LSU medical center area off of poydras near the interstate, you can do street parking all around there.
We usually get a good spot on a one way facing poydras. After the game, this is a very easy deal to get back on the interstate.
If you are every late and it gets crowded, you can park on Tulane or right off of it. Back down Tulane is an easy interstate venture too.

There are parking garages all over the place. Not too hard to find a spot

they tow in this area frequently, even in areas where parking is legal.

Never ever had or heard of a problem.

I park underneath the interstate right across from home depot

I like the medical center area too. Excellent for leaving the dome area vs. garages. Never have heard of any towing issues either.

you could park at Harrah's for free if you gamble for like 15 minutes and get validated, then take a cab to the dome

One Shell Square... It's a good walk but you pass all the awesome bars there and on the way back. Plus you don't have to sit in the traffic. You can hit canal St or take lee circle to I-10 faster

Baronne street is where i park.

If you get there really early you can find a spot on the steet. If not I usually park in one of the lots off of O'Keefe. I have parked under the interstate (around Home Depot to Okeefe usually has some spots) plenty times also.
Get there late and obviously you will have a harder time finding a spot and will have to walk further. I would recommend getting there earlier and going to Champions square or just try to find something to do before the game.

I could tell you the short cut, and I made a map last year, but too many people saw it.
Basically when going to a Saints game you always want to exit Carrolton and then take the Howard off ramp. Then take Howard to right before the Times Picayunne and turn under that scary looking overpass, at the stop sign turn to your left (almost a u-turn) and take the Broad overpass, then take your first right and now you are on Poydras. At the light take a right and look to park around there. Best tailgaiting spots, all free parking and secured with security,
There is no better place to park. Plus its right next to an interstate entrance. I usually leave Kenner an hour before kick-off and am in my seats by the national anthem.
My route takes less than fifteen minutes from Kenner. No way to the dome is possible faster, as the average New Orleanian has no idea of this route.
(ETA, if traffic looks bad, exit Metaire Road, and stay on the frontage road until Howard.
Howard to Broad to Poydras. This is the key. Learn this route.
Paying to park, only to be stuck in garage traffic blows.
park in the green, this is better than off of Earhart as you don't have to deal with those stairs and that walkway.
