For those of you who are interested and have Direct TV, it's on channel 649 at 7 tonight. Enjoy!

Got that right! This is the perfect example of winning the battle but losing the war...

This game brings back a very memorable moment. My grandmother was married to my step-grandfather on this day. The justice of the peace was late and the game had already started so the ceremony was delayed until half-time. My uncle told him to hurry up because we did not want to miss the kick off at the beginning of the second half. The J of the P finished in the time it took for a commercial break. we did not even miss the half-time report.

I'm so glad that I was too little to really understand how bad Hallman was when he was at LSU. Looking back on it now, I feel bad for anyone who was a student during that time (Although we did win 2 CWS in that era).

Man, I can remember that game like it was yesterday. I was sitting there with my favorite cousin, my folks, buncha other family, and I just kept telling myself, don't get excited man, don't lose control of your emotions, we are not going to win this game...we are not going to win this game....

IIRC, Alabama was on one HUGE winning streak at the time. Hadn't lost a game in forever. Is that the game I'm thinking about?

So do you think that winning this game indirectly caused us to lose to Auburn the next year?

After the game, I was sitting in the Alabama student section struggling to not celebrate too obnoxiously and get killed when a Gump student turned around and said "Congrats on winning the game...and keeping Hallman for at least another year" with a shite eating grin on his face. And I knew he was right.

Still get excited watching that game - I was living in Tuscaloosa then.

Yep, 28 games. Hadn't lost since the second game of the 1991 season. Although some of those wins were vacated later on.

ETA: 31 games unbeaten... they tied Tennessee a few weeks before to end the win streak at 28.
