Friend sent me an article via phone and I can't access the site where the video is from work (did read it on my iphone). Basically Sam Montgomery says he gained 30 pounds without losing speed. How legit does this sound? If there is something fishy going on, why on earth would he come out and say something like that to the media? Thoughts?

Yeah maybe. I'm not knowledgeable about sports injuries or how much an athlete should progress when it comes to how bulking up compares to speed gained or lost. Thirty pounds just seems like a lot to put on without losing a noticeable amount of speed. I'd sure hate to be on the opposite side of the ball from him though.

I give zero fricks if something fishy is going on. I want ravaging beast on the field ripping heads off and tearing limbs.

Depends. a lot of it could be in his legs which would help his speed. Sprinters (outside bolt) have are often pretty jacked.

He was under 230 before camp last year after injuring his jaw in the summer so that put him behind last year what he could have been.

Coupled with year 2 off the knee injury when guys typically add more explosiveness.

sounds legit, they probably didn't want him bulking up too much until he had completely strengthened that knee.

He'll lose 15-20 of that in camp.

As entertaining as that would be, it would be epically disappointing to see our program take a hit for using banned substances. That being said, if anyone could get players to excel physically like this, it's the LSU staff. Gonna be a fun year watching him and Mingo rush the passer.

I was impressed with everything Sam had to say and his demeanor and attitude. He sure seems to be a class act and based on his performance from last year Sam should have another great year even if he lost a LITTLE bit of his speed. You know he didn't lose any strength and it was great to watch him drive upfield thru the lineman on the other side. He blew up a number of opponents' plays doing that.Geaux Sam

It would be very entertaining. I'm gonna start a all doping league with no banned substances. How awesome would that be to watch?

Btw, I can't remember the last time doping and a football team were mentioned in the same sentence in regards to penalties. We all know it goes on though.

Other teams won't be able to run. They will be down 5 TD's by the half because Mett will have thrown for 300 yards and 4 TD's.

What about Mingo? I'd like to see him bulk up a little bit.
