I have been at numerous home ALA games, not necessarily LSU ALA games, and those fools actual howl like werewolves when things are going well. I guess that is passion but frick man it's just weirdly psychotic.

Narcissism.
They think that the school invented Football. Their fan base is by far the worst bunch of delusional tards i have ever encountered as a group.
However i do recognize that by and large their fan base has little else worth a crap in their lives.

The Auburn vs. Bama stuff has pushed that state into talking football 24/7/365 to the point that it occupies a lot of their fans lives.
Couple that with Bama's success and the fact that LSU is their competition lately and you have a recipe for some pretty unusual antics. Their better fans do realize that LSU-Bama games have been extremely competitive. The gumps (of which they have plenty)--look at the results of the championship game to tell themselves they are vastly superior.

True Tide fans who stick with their school through thick and thin. I find them to be, in general, the most knowledgeable, compared to most other fanbases, save USC (Trojans).
The type that went into hibernation after 11/5 only to reappear later. Every fanbase has them but UA tends to be more numerous. These aren't supporters of the program in any sense, rather a fan of the warm fuzzy vicarious success gives them. They are common, faint-hearted and really not worth responding to. When the weather is no longer fair, they disappear. SecRant, along with most blogs, has tons of them.

Not me. I'm claiming that Houlgate 2011 thing. I've come to the conclusion there will never be a NCAA championship for major division football due to revenue sharing. So I'm going to claim whatever sticks to the wall like everyone else.
