You are so lucky that GM06 failed his physical.

Saw a report that the Brewers have a very high price for Greinke and that they covet a young SS in particular.

Pastornicky for Greinke and Braun. You heard it here first.

I'm ready to pony up for Greinke. I no longer have any interest in Dempster. Give me the young guy who will be around for a few years.

Well it's a little bullshite because Viz can't be traded.

Greinke is going to be expensive.

I'm thinking 3 prospects.

He's a top of the rotation type pitcher. Just what we need.

Would give us:
Greinke
Hudson
Hanson
Sheets
Minor

This would make us very, very formidable moving forward.

If the Braves are willing to pay him in the neighborhood of $20mill per season after this year.... then i say pull the trigger on the trade.

If we're not going to try our best to re-sign him....then maybe look for a better deal.

Things MLBtraderumors.com sez:

"The Brewers are thought to rank Braves right-hander Julio Teheran ahead of Randall Delgado and Mike Minor, according to Haudricourt. The Brewers want pitchers who can contribute at the MLB level soon."

I'm not sure Wren would pull the trigger on the trade without a lot of confidence and faith that we would resign him.

It's looking like he is going to go to free agency. At this point, it doesn't seem wise to invest a bunch of top prospects when we could wait 3 months and try and sign him, unless of course we want to try and win now.

Hoping we don't make a Tex like trade here

Also, with the Brewers' desire for quality, MLB ready pitching and a good SS prospect, the Braves seem like an ideal trading partner. Like I said, I think that is dependent on our ability to sign him long term though.

No doubt, that seems to be the theme with Wren as he does not want a repeat of that horrible Teixeira deal.
