Could we use any players off the Penn state team?

I am assuming from the leaked info that the players are going to be able to switch schools.

We're good. They don't really offer much and the majority of the kids they recruit are guys we never go after

I looked over their roster and despite my knowledge of recruiting and the prospects associated with it, I am not very familiar with many of the kids on their roster. Only spots to even consider really are DE,DT and DB prospects that may be able to help right away but I knew very few of them. I say pass.

I assume it would keep Urban more occupied around that region, and not dip into the south.

The QB Christian Hackenberg has been getting rave reviews at the recent camps but I am not sure where he would otherwise go. It looks like Alabama was one of the team on his offer list. I know LSU is set with its QB recruiting situation

Let's say the NCAA allows their players to leave and not have to sit a year. Will teams who take these players be given a waiver to the 85 scholarship limit? If the answer is no I would think it would be very hard for the majority of these players to find D1 homes for the upcoming season.

Unless they get the death penalty (a terrible decision if they do imo), there will most likely be a circle the wagon mentality and the vast majority will stay. Of course, some disgruntled, and there are always disgruntled, will take advantage, but I don't think they will be the top prospects.

"I'm not feeling you"- Jerry Sandusky

The rumors section at ESPN quoted him as saying the only thing that would keep him from PSU is the death penalty. The kid seems psyched to play under O'Brien.

Isn't he out of eligibility anyway?

REALLY damaged goods. Mauti has blown out both of his knees at PSU. Sucks because he was a player...he's a grad student up there now with 1 season of eligibility left. He'd probably just stick it out there, doesn't look like he has any NFL future.

The NCAA has yet to say whether they will pursue sanctions or not. But if you think this situation is so different that it should not warrant sanctions you're wrong. There is a principle called institutional control, which USC violated and received sanctions for concerning Reggie Bush.
In this case the football program itself conspired to conceal crimes, and even though Sandusky retired some time ago, he continued to receive the benefit, via the football program, of using the facilities to commit criminal acts. In short he was being protected and enabled by the football department.
The football program was the tail wagging the dog, overruling every other department within the school. Having a football program is not a right, it is a privilege, and it must demonstrate proper administration in order to maintain that privilege.
