Have many friends that are Cops and I wanted to ask them on Facebook, but I know they will not answer publicly. What would they do if one day they were asked to start confiscating guns from the public. Many are quite verbal about their feelings toward Obama so I'm pretty sure their thoughts on this. I know that there is a proposal to the United Nations that will soon be introduced that will make the US gunfree if passed and this that happened in Colorado could help make the proposal gain strength. Gun control only hurts the law abiding citizen.

From me and every fellow LEO I have ever asked this of....you don't have much to worry about.

1. It is against the oath we swore.
2. IT WOULD BE SUICIDE.

This would never happen and to even think it would even try to happen is idiotic.

One good reason to buy a few guns that are not under your name. Buy a few for someone you don't know works out great. But still, we the people will never give up our right to bear arms.

Politicians figured out how to boil frogs in water a long time ago. They wil never come get them. They also learned long ago that this rype of action leads to pitchforks, torches, and nooses. They will just make it impossible for the law abiding to keep them and only those willing to break the law will keep them. Kind of like every law in the books today.

I really, really doubt this. Lots of bogus information floats around the internet.

Myself and all of my fellow LEO's are very pro gun. There is no way this could happen because none of us would cooperate. I think that the military would feel the same on this issue.

Without guns, there is no way for citizens to protect themselves from the predatory criminals.

I think it's a damned shame that a few people in that Colorado theatre didn't have guns on them so they could defend themselves from that lunatic.

A cop would do it. He will look like he is in charge. They feed on this.

I hope most will not.

This.... A UN treaty can't trump the 2nd amendment. Take off your tin foil hat and do a little research.

Very interesting topic for me. I'm not sure if any of you LEOs on here know any NOPD, but does anyone have any insight on why the gun grab went on like it did after Katrina? I figured LEOs would be too busy trying to prevent looting or something else.

Slickback posted a video of a Katrina gun confiscation, that should tell you how they feel about doing it.

Hurricane Katrina Door to Door Firearms Confiscation

You may actually believe that you and your brethren won't participate in a gun confiscation, but research and reality indicate otherwise.

I would trust local police departments over the national guard any day.

I guess it should be noted that when the National Guard comes around after the next storm, everyone should quietly hand over their Mosin-Nagants, say aw shucks, wait for the guard to leave and pull your guns back out of hiding.

No, they shouldn't hand over anything to them, that's an illegal seizure. I would assume that there were some lawsuits filed if people didn't get their firearms back
