On Meet The Press, someone who I consider to be one of the most well respected sports journalists of all time (that's objective I know) called for the NCAA to suspend FB for one year at PSU

And then he called on the leadership of the university to do it to themselves..."if come September football is being played at PSU. Something's wrong

i'm a little torn on this. i really havent followed whats been happening with regard to the school but i agree everyone related to the event should be removed from the school and punished accordingly. i do not believe however that the students/players should be punished for the failings of their leaders. death penalty would effectively screw over all the current players on this team because of something they had zero involvement of

Good for him,he's right. If a pedophile is allowed to operate within it for years, you shouldn't have a football program.

Say what?

Costas is universally respected by most sports fans. Pretty big deal for him to say this IMO.

If you're in the media...calling for the Death penalty for PSU is like saying "I support the troops but want an end to the war."

Nothing really courageous by Costas here.

I agree with this. Let the players play this season, but be allowed to transfer to any school as soon as the season is over with no penalty. Give them all a chance to move forward. Both of the monsters in this case will never hurt a child again. One is in prison and the other is rotting in hell.

We shouldn't drop the atomic bomb. It's not right for the citizens to be punished for the actions of their leaders. Let's invade and allow one million of our own soldiers to die instead.

im not going to get into a political or moral debate on this in here but if you dont think more civilians would have been killed in a land invasion you are extremely optimistic about the brutality of war

Believe me, I know. That's kind of the point, I was being facetious.

I love how people keep saying this like its no big deal to transfer in the middle of your college career to another school. Believe it or not, there are plenty of athletes, even football players, that are there to get an education.
