If the engine checks out good, then yes if it has low hours. Repowering that boat would set you back an easy 10K. If you are going to buy a used boat, pay to have it surveyed. Way cheap insurance!

I think he means bring it to a reputable mechanic and have him look at it.

I would also recommend a survey. There are people who actually do boat surveys and know what problem areas to look for. Also, I would be leery about the boat being located in Abbeville with a Texas registration. Could be a scam.

Yeah I have sold and bought a lot on Craigslist and I would defiantly go down there to see the boat and take it out so I that nix that scam thing.

He had some tragedy and had to put the boat in storage. He left the country, but has already arranged for a shipping company to send the boat to you. You pay him through a bullshite PayPal-type scam service, who "holds" the money until you verify shipping.
The boat never comes, the money is gone, the phone number is no longer a working number, doesn't reply to emails.
Works on old people and unintelligent people.

Thanks I had wondered how it worked. I see boats listed for less 50% what they should be valued so knew there was a catch somewhere.
