There for awhile almost every game of FIFA I was getting booted off by the EA servers. I thought it might just be a FIFA thing, but it just happened to me on NCAA after a furious late comeback, as TM7 walked in with a go ahead pick six.

Some games are just fine and I play with no problems. And I'm never signed off of PSN. What gives?

Run an Internet Connection Test under Network Settings, check your Download Speed.

7.5 mbps. I know zero technical jargon so I don't know if I just answered the problem or not

More than enough speed. I pull 8 or so, and never get DC'ed but maybe a handful of times across NCAA/NHL hundreds of games. Me DC'ing, anyways.

Are you using Wireless? If so, probably why you DC so much. PS3 wireless sucks, run wired any way you can.

I get randomly disconnected from ea servers playing battlefield sometimes. I either have to restart the game or wait a few minutes.

For some strange reason, I always lose my connection the minute I take the lead, or when my opponent goes for it on 4th and long and doesn't make it. Very odd..
