Gotham must have the most overall murders.

Whatever town Murder She Wrote is supposed to be in. People getting murdered there every other day.

I would have to say Crystal Lake. Or Haddonfield, Illinois. Or Springwood, Ohio.

Small Town X (per capita)

Haddonfield, Illinois.
Haddonfield only had like 8-9 in one day the whole year though.

Yea but its happened like 8 or 9 times. It might be the lower of the 3. Camp Crystal Lake is way up there though.

Maybe replace Haddonfield with Woodsboro, California. But they might be almost equal too.

Escape from L.A. - Los Angeles
or
7 Cabot Cove (Murder She Wrote)
Crime Rate:
At first, Cabot Cove doesn't seem all that bad. It's an idyllic coastal community of only 3,000, so you can't complain about the atmosphere. Also, for a town in the typically unwashed state of Maine, the townsfolk are relatively attractive, consistently looking (and for some reason acting) like they just stepped off the set of a soap opera.
However, none of that changes the fact that if you lived in Cabot Cove from 1984-1996, there was a pretty good chance that someone was going to murder your arse. With a body count of up to eight per episode, Cabot Cove experienced an outbreak of no less than 800 murders during the time that Jessica Fletcher lived there. And the crimes tended to be local on local, meaning that over half of the population was involved in a murder in a twelve year span. (Hear that, Camden, NJ?)

I think Camp Crystal Lake takes the cake. You have to think that the town is only like 150 people and something like 15 people die there almost every summer, the murder rate is going to be through the roof.

Honestly when you've got Joker and Zsasz in town, not to mention all the other thugs and super villains in town. I don't see how it CAN'T be Gotham City. Joker and Zsasz's death count goes near or in the 4 digit range.

But we're talking murder rate here. Gotham City is shown to be as big as New York so you have to assume that overall their murder rate isnt going to be astronomical.
Crystal Lake and the surrounding towns cant have more than 1,000 people total, so their numbers are going to be way more skewed. But as for overall kills, Gotham City blows Crystal Lake out of the water.

If we are going there then that would mean Batman with all of his vigilance is a complete failure.

I'd have to go with Sunnydale, Ca from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Well, it's up for debate since much of his Rogue Gallery wouldn't be around if Batman weren't. Ten again he saved Gotham and the world a few dozen times, so it's really one of the great mysteries of comics really.
