Why don't we just skip that step and hire Jurgen Klinsmann? They both did equally well in their respective WC cycles with Germany, right?

IDk who id want if Arsene left, or when he does. Sure dont want to be chelsea fans. Was watching the games with a few and all they could say was how theyd take mourinho back. Id hate to have a new coach every year.

Yeah. I still don't know what to make of this report. On one hand, it's a fairly reputable paper with its chief football writer behind it. On the other hand, there is no source given. Seems speculative. Makes me wonder who talked to him. Someone in Arsene's camp? PSG? The line about trying to force arsenal's board into releasing more funds makes me think the former.

If PSG want to buy out Arsene's final year, now seems as good a time as any for there to be a breakup. Having a lame duck worked out well for Bayern this year, but I'm not sure that'd do us any good, particularly in the transfer market. I hope we either extend Arsene or let him go and bring in a top manager.

I hope Wenger doesn't leave. I'd prefer if he stays until he dies/retires. Tactically he's sometimes stubborn, but at the same time his tactics bring out the most of average players, of which we have a squad full at the moment. We'll probably need a complete squad overhaul if we bring another manager in.

Will we ever win another PL title with Arsene at the help? Arsenal have been very underwhelming this season. We don't look good against anyone in the top 4 or 5, and our strategy seems to be kick it around but never shoot, or play it to the outside and cross the ball into our lone forward who never gets his head on it.

This is the worst team of the Wenger era, and we're still competing for the top four. We have to spend, obviously, but no manager could do more with less. Our record against the top 6 is irrelevant. We've lacked offensive punch this season, but we're still on pace to reach 70 goals.

If Wenger does leave, I hope we go after Low or Klopp. Or Spalletti. Or anyone, as long as we give them money.

Bergkamp or Moyes do not excite me.

I'd be fine with Moyes. Bergkamp maybe one of these days. I'd love Löw or Heynckes. Klopp seems an unreasonable candidate at this point due to BVB's success. We already have the highest paid manager in the world though. We wouldn't lack for money to offer a new coach.

Does any reasonable person thinks that he would leave his position basically one year before the 2014 WC if Wenger leaves this year?

also, just to make my position clear, I agree with this. hope he stays for many more years. but if he does choose to move on, this year seems better than next.

It's more likely than Klopp leaving, IMO, but still pretty damn unlikely. seems like he'd want to stick with the national team. not sure exactly what his motivations are. in that instance, it might logistically work better to have a Wenger-Löw handoff next summer after the WC.

Much more of a plausible scenario. I want Wenger to retire at Arsenal.
