Scholes?

He sits much too deep trying to bolster and coordinate their possession. Nothing really helping on the offensive end, which granted isn't really all that much of a problem for them. Where he is the biggest liability is defensively. Much too slow and not good enough defensive positioning to break up counters or slow down the opposition.

They really need a true CDM. They are extremely leaky at the back, don't have the best goalkeeping and overall poor defensive organization.

And couldn't they get someone in January?

They will have to. But from here on out they will have to score 3 or more each match against the rest of the CL challengers.

Part of me is worried that Arsenal's goal scoring problems won't be fixed in time to compete for the title (a legitimate possibility this year).

Giroud needs to be given a run of games to prove himself so we know whether or not to make a move for a striker in January(Chicarito?). Walcott will be sold more than likely so we shouldn't have an excuse about money.

His style of play doesn't fit ours at all.

But the fact that he's on the Mexican national team doesn't help his case

Sure it does. He makes intelligent runs beyond the defense and is a finisher, one of the biggest attributes we are missing right now.

Chicharito's movement is absolutely ridiculous. He is constantly moving and making dangerous runs.

Now maybe he's to fast for himself or maybe his timing is a bit off but he is caught offside a lot.

That's sort of his game though, live on the edge and maybe get called 10 or eleventy times a game but the time he doesn't...result in a great chance or goal.

You can't have him, btw.

the little pea, is better than every striker currently on Arsenal's roster.

Truth hurts. Especially when it's a Mexican Manc.

Sorry man.

sort of unfair to draw a conclusion yet. chicharito has been in the EPL, what, 2-3 years now? he's had time to accumulate goal scoring moments. a guy like poldi has proven he can rock anyone's shite, for club or country, though he was once inconsistent-to-nonexistent for bayern.

giroud's still adapting. maybe he won't pan out -- he's certainly given us reasons to be cynical -- but it's still too early to give him a fair judgment. it's easy to get impatient with the fact that for some, adapting from one league to the next with a different coaching style and set of players is sort of a shellshock.

as far as chicharitos style of play compared to what's available at arsenal? yeah, he's crafty and a fantastic poacher and we don't have anyone that offers his skill set.

Chicharito doesn't strike me as a good starter. He's a world-class second half substitute that can come in and get a goal. He might eventually become a good starting option, but for now he's a lightning quick poacher that gives the offense a shot in the arm. If Arsenal or anyone else got him, I still wouldn't think he'd be a first choice.

There MIGHT be 2 other teams in the Prem where Chicharito wouldn't start. He is a starter, he's just at a club that have 2 world class, and one young prototype in front of him.

Eh, I just don't see him as a starter at a good club. I love what he does...but he's at his best off the bench. Even when it was just Rooney, Welbeck was a better option up top.

To get off the Chicharito talk what other Strikers are out there as gets for the Winter transfer window?

Any top class players who aren't bank breakers? Since I don't believe Arsenal would break the bank for one anyway.

City, Chelsea, Newcastle for sure. I don't think Pool would start him, but I understand the point that he's rotting on a bench and would start for most teams.

City and Newcastle were the other 2 I had in mind. He would definitely start at Liverpool and I could certainly see RDM fancying him. He is clinical by every sense of the word, and his goals/minute record is outstanding. There are very few clubs that wouldn't adapt to include him.
