I fished the Harris chain in Central Florida today. There was a bass tournament going on and those guys were rude as hell all day. They would run right up on you and just take your spot over. I had it happen a few times during the day. Then at the ramp, they were jerks as well. I had one cut in front of me. Then while loading our boats (double ramp) he decided to put his boat in reverse just as I was approaching my trailer. I had to avoid hitting him.

Your you guys out in Louisiana experience that too.

Doesn't surprise me I guess. They acted like they owned the lake.

Yea that's definitely true. I've had one give me a chug bug one day because that's what he was catching them on and I lost mine on the 2nd cast. I've also had them pull their boat up between mine and the bank close enough to spit in and start fishing the point I was on. It just depends who it is.

The a-hole density is definitely higher among tourney guys than the recreational fishing population though.

I haven't a clue. There were about 40 boats in it and there was nothing to indicate what organization it was. Looked like a local group or something.

My buddy would have thrown his bait in their boat or told them something with many curse words in it.

Tournament fishermen are usually in a hurry because of time restrictions, but taking over your spot, well that's just a reason to go to war!!!

Perhaps a super soaker water gun w red food dye in it would be perfect to shoot at em while they are being dickish.

Id love to pour on some tough love to em during these moments.

Light em up w something. Piss em off is my motto.

that's when it's good to have a 1/2 oz sinker at hand. they cut you off and you hit them in the head with the sinker.

I crank my motor at full throttle and take off at half throttle, realize I went the wrong way, and pass back at half throttle.

I've seen mostly the opposite down here.

On some circuits, poor sportsmanship will get an angler disqualified.

As far as coming in on your spot while you're catching fish, I see the worst behavior among salt water fishermen.

I echo the earlier comment -- if someone comes in on top of me, and if a polite comment doesn't solve the "poaching" problem, that spot won't be holding many fish when I leave it.

Had a small boat with 2 ninja's once run full speed within me and the bank and I was casting to the bank...
The waves splashed into my boat.
I told everyone reel in your lines and buckle up, I ran him down and cut in front of him at full speed.
He was yelling and cussing at me.
I gave him the one finger salute.

Not my finest moment on the water, but we laughed our asses off for about an hour.

My brother said " I thought we were sinking you made us to get our stuff in so fast"

I like that. You could even act like you're a new fisherman and can't cast.
