Months ago I mentioned this may happen. Who would prosecute Contempt charges against Eric Holder? The DOJ. Who is in charge of the DOJ? Eric Holder.

This is going to get real messy, real fast. This is a direct flouting of the House's authority in this and any Dems that don't rally to the House's side in this are more putting party first and should be shown the door asap.

*cough!*Pelosi*cough!*

re: DOJ says it won't prosecute Holder

quote:

Issa, R-Calif., had acknowledged Thursday night that it was "very possible" the president would instruct the U.S. attorney not to prosecute Holder. He indicated Republicans would use the civil courts to get what they want.

"The House has authorized me to hire staff and legal staff who can pursue civilly through the courts to try to get a federal judge to order, separately, this discovery," he said.

Hill also told FoxNews.com that the next stop probably would be civil court, but he suggested the threat of criminal prosecution still looms. For now, the Obama administration can argue that its executive privilege claim over the documents protects Holder from the possibility of prosecution.

But if a civil court rules that claim invalid, Hill said, "then basically Justice has lost that shield."

What's in the DOCUMENTS! This makes me think there is more to it then we think. It seems they will do whatever it takes to make sure those papers never see the light of day.

Imagine all the other stuff we don't know. I demand to see those too!

The applications for the wiretaps that were revealed today, show that Holder porbably knew about the gun running long before when he said, therefore, he lied bigtime, he lied to Congress and to the public in interviews and speeches.

More than likely what will happen is that the house will start proceedings to take it to Civil court and the administration will cut a deal of some sort.

If that doesn't happen though, it will all depend on what the Civil court decides and whichever way that goes, expect an appeal. This could literally go on for a good decade unless a deal is struck.

Knowing he would be shielded is the reason a civil contempt vote was also taken. Holder won't be AG after Jan 20, 2013 but he would be pardoned by Obama on his way out anyway. Best to get the info out there and perhaps the Justice Dept will have to recuse itself in future conflicts of interest like this.
